Health Scholar Showcase 2019

The Health Scholar Showcase is part of Texas State University’s Translational Health Research Initiative, which seeks to improve health by connecting faculty and community partners to engage in innovative research and sponsored programs. An increasing number of Texas State faculty representing at least 30 departments, schools and centers, and at least eight colleges, are currently engaged in health research and sponsored programs.

Our growing health research portfolio provides new opportunities to develop collaborative partnerships among scientists, clinicians, and members of our community to tackle complex health issues. In conjunction with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Dr. Melinda Villagran leads the Translational Health Research Initiative and supports faculty seeking to attract new grant funding, build their research teams, develop research tools, or move forward on multidisciplinary programs.
