THE CHALLENGE
Charitable clinics are essential to delivering care for uninsured and underinsured communities across Texas — often serving as the front line for chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. Yet many face growing patient demand, financial instability, workforce strain, and increasing pressure to demonstrate measurable impact. Limited resources, gaps in data infrastructure, and challenges in communicating outcomes make it difficult to sustain and scale their work, especially during funding uncertainty.
THE SOLUTION
In response, the Translational Health Research Center (THRC) partnered with leaders from 10 charitable clinic organizations — representing a network of 90+ clinics serving urban and rural communities across Texas — to co-develop practical, sustainable solutions that strengthen capacity, improve decision-making, and better communicate real-world health impact.
