We are excited to share that the Translational Health Research Center (THRC) at Texas State University is serving as a regional sponsor of Nucleate Texas, a trainee-led organization that represents one of the largest global communities of bio-innovators.
Nucleate is dedicated to empowering the next generation of biotech leaders by identifying and supporting emerging entrepreneurs, providing educational resources for scientists and business students, and building connections across the life sciences ecosystem. Through a suite of programs, including its premier Activator program, Nucleate focuses on developing trainees into recognized biotech leaders while helping transform academic research into high-impact ventures that address pressing biomedical and environmental challenges.
This is the culminating event of the Activator program where top teams from across Texas present to a panel of industry leaders, investors, and scientists. Demo Day is one of the strongest biotech networking opportunities in Texas, where attendees can connect with investors, operators, academics, and partners shaping the future of life sciences. Texas is aging faster than most other states, and nearly 460,000 residents over 65 have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, the most common form of dementia. To address this growing need, the Brain Health Community Collaborative: Partners in Healthy Aging ECHO Series connects researchers, community organizations, and healthcare stakeholders in a virtual space where they can share knowledge, discuss practical strategies for brain health, and build meaningful partnerships.
By fostering these connections, the Translational Health Research Center (THRC) at Texas State University aims to help participants develop the collaborative relationships essential for competitive grant proposals and supports their ability to pursue funding opportunities, including the Dementia Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT), advancing research and healthy aging initiatives across the state.
