Dr. Jessica Perrotte explores how distal sociocultural factors (e.g., cultural orientation, gender roles), stressors (e.g., discrimination), and proximal cognitive-motivational factors (e.g., motives, expectancies) relate to alcohol misuse and health risk behaviors, with a focus on Hispanic/Latina/o/x American young adults. Her work is supported by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Perrotte is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Texas State University and Director of Social, Cultural, and Cognitive Approaches to Examining Risky and Addictive Behaviors (SCCAERAB).
