About Faculty Fellows Projects

This project explores the development of a school-based instrument to identify homelessness in children more accurately and consistently, in order to connect them with resources available under the McKinney-Vento Act. Current identification approaches rely on administrative and educational data that raise privacy concerns and contribute to underreporting; this project lays the groundwork — through stakeholder engagement and interview-based data collection — for a validated, standardized approach that better supports school nurses' advocacy for homeless students.
