About Faculty Fellows Projects

Dr. Ty Schepis aims to foster health and resilience by understanding the development of substance use, psychopathology, and the interaction between these conditions in adolescents. His main goal is to determine the relationship between children who already experience anxiety and depression and their initiation into substance use in order to figure out how it affects their symptoms. Findings from this project will help identify points of intervention for at-risk adolescents as well as evidence to support universal screening in healthcare settings for adolescent substance use.

Research Impact Highlights

Research Impact Highlights showcase how the project advances mental health understanding, improves evidence-based interventions, and strengthens real-world support systems for veterans, service members, and at-risk populations.
