Improving Firefighter Health and Performance Webinar

March 8, 2023 | 3:00 - 4:30 pm CT

According to FEMA, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among firefighters due to the environmental, physical, and psychological stressors they encounter in their profession.

The Translational Health Research Center hosted a webinar on current research and evidence-based recommendations to reduce the impact of these stressors and improve the health and performance of firefighters.

Participants learned about the impacts of stress and ways to mitigate its effects, and heard testimonies from fire departments who have implemented testing and mitigation efforts in their practice.
