Eligibility

The program is open to all Texas State University undergraduate students.
No prior research experience is required. Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. We are seeking students who are curious, collaborative, motivated, and interested in making an impact through health research and community engagement.

Students from disciplines including Public Health, Biology, Biochemistry, Communication Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Engineering, Business, Education, Nursing, and related fields are especially encouraged to apply.

Why This Program?

Today's students need more than technical knowledge to succeed. Employers, graduate programs, and research organizations increasingly seek individuals who can collaborate across disciplines, communicate effectively, lead teams, and solve complex problems.

The THRC Student Fellows Program combines structured training with real-world experience to help students develop these skills while contributing to meaningful health and resilience initiatives that serve Texas communities.

By participating in the program, Fellows gain experiences that prepare them to become adaptable professionals capable of bridging disciplines, building partnerships, and addressing complex health challenges through research and innovation.
