Poster Submission Details

Health Scholar Showcase research poster submissions must adhere to the following requirements and be submitted by February 11, 2019:

1. Research poster submissions should be created to highlight ways in which the study or research program exemplifies Smart and Connected Health Innovation. Potential poster topics include investigations of clinical and community relationships, digital health technology, health prevention interventions, diagnostic tools and techniques, and programs to support family caregivers by connecting them with healthcare providers.

2. Posters should represent research conducted within the last two years by Texas State faculty members, or by collaborative research teams that include at least one Texas State faculty member who will be in attendance at the Health Scholar Showcase. Multi-institution research projects are permitted, and co-authors from other institutions are welcome at the Health Scholar Showcase.

3. Research conducted predominantly by graduate students is not permitted, but collaborative research among faculty and graduate students is permitted as long as the first author is a faculty member who will present the poster at the Health Scholar Showcase.

4. In general, faculty members should submit no more than ONE research poster to the Showcase, but two posters will be accepted per faculty member as long as the posters represent distinctly different studies with different co-authors. There is no limit on the number of posters submitted by an academic department, college, or center. Due to space limitations, thematic and conceptual posters representing future research programs will not be accepted. Submitted posters should include information about research methodology, results, and (when applicable) future directions of the project.

5. Accepted posters will be printed at no cost to authors as long as they are received in print-ready form no later than February 11th, 2019.  Accepted poster submissions that do not adhere to printing requirements below must be printed by the author(s), and dropped at the Translational Health Research Initiative office (Nueces 247) on or before February 20, 2019. We apologize but we cannot edit submitted posters to make them print-ready by the February 11th deadline. We will contact you if there is a problem printing your submission. .

All posters must be submitted to healthresearch@txstate.edu. Submissions must be created in one Power Point slide, sized to be printed as a 24 x 36 inch poster.  In the body of your email, include the names and contact information for each author, and identify who will present the poster at the Health Scholar Showcase.
